Crowdfunding platforms like Kickstarter and GoFundMe are popular ways to raise funds to support a special project such as a documentary film or an invention or to support a family in need after a crisis. A recent survey from NeighborWorks America found that nearly 1 in 4 millennials thinks the minimum down payment required is 21 percent. However, a wide range of mortgage programs is available to borrowers with a minimum down payment requirement of 3 or 3.5 percent.
